:rudolph: ^PirateLotus-Stock and I wish our entire stock and resources community a safe, magical and warm festive season no matter when or how you celebrate!  After the recent devastating news of the killings in Connecticut its a hard reminder that family and friends can be swept away from us in the blink of an eye, so cherish them and smother them in love every chance you get.  We all know that there are many out there who won't be able to, and we send you our love. :heart:

Stock and Resources UpdatesLETS TALK ABOUT STOCK "REQUESTS"
Every year we get excited, eager, passionate new stock providers entering our small but growing community, and every year these new stock models in particular get targeted by a small group of "requesters" Those of us who have been on the site for more than a few years recognise the types of "requests" I'm talking about and know to absolutely avoid them at all costs, but its something that I've seen more and more regularly over the last few months, and its definitely a concern.
There are standard "pose requests" that are NOT requested for the "artist" to work from.  They are simply asking you to take photos of yourself in provocative poses so they can get off to your stock.
Firstly - please keep in mind that the images you are providing to artists are STOCK ART - they are first and foremost designed to provide artists with useable, useful references, either for traditional art, or digital art or whatever media they choose to create

A man of some mystery John William Waterhouse, most affectionately known throughout his lifetime as 'Nino" was born in Rome to his English parents William and Isabella during the wonder years of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood who set the art world alight.
It was his Italian beginnings that first influenced his artistic style as a young man first at school in Leeds, then later at his fathers studio in London where he entered the coveted Royal Academy of Arts at the age of 21, not as a painter; but as a sculptor.  Six months later his probationary term ended and he was fully enrolled as a student leading to his first painting exhibits.

Creeping Wednesday #6
It's the witch's hour in the 6th Creeping Wednesday! Warts, papillas, crooked noses, humpbacks, broomsticks and kettles and cauldrons. I'm glad that I could find plenty of sculptures for this feature! No suggesters this time, unfortunately. For the next article, I'm looking for frames and borders... but with a picture inside - and traditional. I'm sure you know plenty of such, don't hesitate to mention them!

We hope you all had an excellent beginning to the New Year!  Please find below some very interesting contests, features and news.
Precut stock - all the problems :/
Precut stock is something that like Marmite, people either love, or hate.  Either way it brings its own special issues to stock providers and photomanipulators alike, so I've highlighted some very important points you should take into consideration below.
:bulletred: Precut stock is in its very nature "EDITED" therefore its is no longer in its original photographic form and should therefore be posted to resources/clipart OR stock/premade backgrounds/..  NOT to the usual stock galleries which should be reserved for original photography that has only very minor post production edits such as exposure/brightness/contrast etc. alterations according to DA's gallery definitions.

:bulletred: If somebody is asking you to nominate a particular piece of their work for a DD in exchange for points or something else please DO NOT suggest them for a DD.  Having 40+ people spamming us
Origami - Art of Paper FoldingOrigami is an art form that transforms paper into a sculpture through paper folding and sculpting techniques. Thus, cutting or gluing paper would not be considered to be origami, but 'kirigami' instead.
