I haven't understood one thing about your new rule: no use with scx.hu images without photographer's permission, or with sxc.hu images at all :-(?
I'm on sxc.hu too, and I know for sure that many photographers (me too) feel very happy when their works are used in DA manips...
Anyway, I'll accept you rule
:-)

You should go check out the journals ^SanguineVamp wrote recently here - [link] and the follow up here - [link] if you haven't yet. Up until a few weeks ago there was a common consensus that SXC stock providers were more than happy to allow their stock to be used in derivative works EG manips etc. However when SXC was bought out fully by Getty they seem to have reverted to their original ideals about what their stock should be used for. When Jade and multiple other artists wrote to SXC to ask what was going on they were told by the sites help desk and administration that under no uncertain circumstances should SXC images be used to create derivative works.
SXC has for some reason taken down the forums, so we've no way of finding out if this is a positive, or a negative thing as far as SXC members are concerned, its hugely frustrating though :/
I have no problem at all with SXC stock being used with mine, but the proviso is as far as the information we have been given is that artists must have explicit written permission from the SXC stock provider. They are no longer allowed to assume that its "ok" to do manips without asking first.

Thanks for the exhaustive explanation.
I read the first article some time ago, and so I thought you were
taking an action against Stock Exchange.
:D
Some artists of sxc.hu (and, I read somewhere, the previous crew too) have migrated with all their images on RGB stock [link]
There is the option to import there the whole gallery of sxc.hu in a few clicks.
RGB allows deviations, but not prints.

Heh no, I have no problem with SXC. I'm a graphic designer by trade, so I use stock as it was originally designed for on a daily basis for work.

I've not heard of RGB before, but will have a look through its terms and conditions. I expect a lot of artists will still find the "no prints" too restrictive for what they want to do with their manips.
