Illustrating history.One idea I have for illustrations is if the story takes place in or there are characters from another time period, I look up illustrations from that period and mimic it's style. Like say 1966 just type "1966 illustration" in Google or Bing and presto! or find books published that year and my favorites are the Illustration Society, Graphis, International Yearbook of Communication Design, etc. If you want to do any earlier time period or like say a certain person such as Cleopatra. See how other artists depicted her throughout the ages like here http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Cleopatra_in_paintings plus there's debates about her heritage. Let's say your story is set in Norway in the late 19th/early 20th century, which artist is most identified with this place and time? Edvard Munch! Look up some of his work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category

Week 3 Pose Circus Challenge for :devdAPoses:Let the Feast Begin!
This time it is all about the food. Anything from picnic to roman feast, from stuffing a turkey in the oven to shrimp on the barby. Preparing, cooking, serving, eating.
Each week on Saturday, there will be a new challenge to the stock artists and a folder created for the theme of that challenge. This will go on for 8 - 10 weeks. Instructions for each challenge will be in the folder for that week. And as always, our core requirements and stock guidelines must be followed. Each folder will have two sub folders, one will be for any nude submissions. Please make sure you put your submission the correct folder. Thank you.
We have decided as a way to encourage more submissions and involvement to make each challenge last for the entire circus, so you can continue to submit for any of the challenges as you have inspiration, opportunity and possibly the right props

What are Aninolves?Aninolves are a specie of animal that I have made. They are part wolf, rhino, deer, and cat and are known for their quick bodies.
Basic Info:
Aninolves are omnivores and will eat absolutely anything if their main food, mostly farm cattle and the key deer (kinda weird a deer eating another deer) are gone.
Aninolves live in small packs or herds mainly filled with two males and four females. Males usually have antlers at their heads and two large rhino horns that go onto the nose. Females have small stubs at their heads and one small rhino horn above the nose.
Aninolves only have one to two calves a year, during mating season a male and female will find a small open area to mate.
Males or also known as bucks or bulls are very aggressive and will fight if harmed or their family has been hurt.
Females or also known as does are very gentle and back down easily on a fight, but when it comes to their calves they can get blood thirsty.
Aninolves range from the Northern Aninolf to the Southern.

New Year, New Contests to wet your appetite and get you creating!

Not only are we about to launch the next big #communityrelations sponsored #StockandResources Contest BUT TODAY!! ^SanguineVamp our wonderful Photomanipulation Community Volunteer and a whole team of photomanipping helpers has launched a HUGEEEEE new photomanipulation contest with a theme of Rebirth and Renewal.

I've very kindly been asked to be a guest judge and I can't tell you how excited I am to see the entries!!

Don't forget this is a contest for EVERYONE!! Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced have separate categories for entry, so each submission has equal chance for getting placed!

This is a huge opportunity for stockers to get involved too! How about making some new stock with the "Rebirth and Renewal" theme for artists to use in their submissions? Or you could have a go at entering a manipulation yourselves if you create art as well as stock!

We all make those resolutions, be better, get more creative, find inspiration, make more art, so here is the first opportunity of the year with more to come to put those resolutions into practice!
