Texture Your World ContestTell us the story of your world in textures!
We are surrounded 24 hours a day by objects that have texture, they may be smooth or bobbly, old or new, bold, bright, shiny or dull. You might see a texture every day and never notice it until you start looking. Do you sit at a desk that's textured, or pass an interesting tree on the way to work or school?
We want you, in the form of a triptych (thats 3 images forming a larger image see example here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triptych ) to tell us the story of your textured world. Each individual texture should stand on its own, both as a useful resource and as a cohesive part of the whole story. What story you tell through your texture triptych is up to you - but they must be textures that tell a story of your world in some way.

Every year we get excited, eager, passionate new stock providers entering our small but growing community, and every year these new stock models in particular get targeted by a small group of "requesters" Those of us who have been on the site for more than a few years recognise the types of "requests" I'm talking about and know to absolutely avoid them at all costs, but its something that I've seen more and more regularly over the last few months, and its definitely a concern.
There are standard "pose requests" that are NOT requested for the "artist" to work from. They are simply asking you to take photos of yourself in provocative poses so they can get off to your stock.
Firstly - please keep in mind that the images you are providing to artists are STOCK ART - they are first and foremost designed to provide artists with useable, useful references, either for traditional art, or digital art or whatever media they choose to create

Gallery Description Updates
Yesterday saw the release of the new "stashy" submit page to A/B beta testers hailing the promotion and better definition of gallery descriptions aimed at improving, helping and preventing the age old problem of miscats (which everyone hates except the people who miscat in the first place)

As you can see from the previews the gallery selection area is now accompanied by examples and the description - which is where you come in. The stock and resources gallery has seen a LOT of changes over the years making the range of descriptions for individual sub categories quite a mixed bag!

Stock and Resources Updates Feb 2013Heading Into 2013
We are well on our way towards the warmer part of the year for those of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere, and whilst we shake off our winter blues and snow boots, our Southern Stockers have been wowing us with new beautiful stock and resources (whilst sweltering in the heat!)
Gallery Cleanup
The gallery cleanup is still going on, but with a reminder to be patient with us, we know its not easy but we have a very VERY big gallery and just a few people (mostly just Erin and myself) tackling the issue, but its not been forgotten or ignored. Erin and I are also very busy with home life as well

1. Is an expensive camera necessary?
*Tasastock says, "No, but they are damned fun to play with! You can get a decent camera for a decent price nowadays that will shoot good quality images in the right conditions. Obviously they're not good for low-light or anything capturing movement, but if you handle them right you can make do with an ordinary camera, I've known plenty of people to do so."

"Ware those who leave the safety of the fireside after the midnight hour on Old Hallows Eve; lest the dead steal your soul and your body be turned into a creature of the night!

Would you turn towards the waning moon or turn away?
Witch, or Witch Hunter, Demon or Demon Hunter... undead, ghost, vampire or werewolf?

THEME

Create your creature of the night as stock for your fellow artists to turn into Halloween themed art! Go to town with makeup and props and strike a zombie pose!

We are looking for some really outstanding "creatures of the night" stock, it doesn't matter if you are a zombie or a ghost, or a demon hunter - but we want you to push the boat out and be as different and as original as you can manage!

What if my oicture doesn't have a model? It's a picture of a cemetery and it almost looks like it was taken by a ghost hunter kinda thing. Is it exceptable in this catagory or is there a different one I have to enter it in?
