Ever had that feeling, that a portrait is watching you? No matter where you stand in the room its gaze seems to follow you,.. staring... waiting...

We invite you to join us in making a grand collection of horrific hounds, voluptuous vampires, and ghoulish ghostly portraits this Halloween in best Haunted House style!
Its time to unlock your inner Dorian Grey, and all those other creepy strange ancestors, cousins, uncles, aunts and grannies that the family don't like to talk about!

Even if you aren't normally a model stock provider - or if you don't usually provide stock at all, this is your chance to dip your toe in the murky waters and have a go! Bring out your face paints and props and make a dashing Halloween portrait entry! The more creative you are, the more creative the results of the second half of the contest will be!

Entry Requirements and Rules- Stock & Resources

Main entry - MUST BE - A portrait stock image of yourself (or your victim model)

You may submit up to 2 MAIN PORTRAIT ENTRIES which must be NEWLY SUBMITTED after the start date.

ADDITIONALLY

Once you have entered your main portrait image(s), you may if you wish, enter up to 5 individual pieces of NEW themed stock and resources submissions that artists can use in the second half of the contest.

ENTRY RULES

PORTRAIT - for the purposes of this contest we ask that all entries are taken from the hips up, you can be sitting or standing and may include props/makeup etc etc

MAIN ENTRIES - must be posted to the stock and resources gallery under model/[male] or [female]/portrait sub categories and also submitted to the StockandResources contest folder

ADDITIONAL RESOURCE ENTRIES - must be submitted to the best appropriate stock or resources sub gallery before being submitted to the StockandResources contest folder

ALL entries must be legitimate resources submitted NEW to DeviantART for this contest - entries that do not cover the stock and resources guidelines and DeviantART's submission policies will be disqualified  FAQ #809: What are DeviantArt's stock image guidelines?

ALL ENTRIES must include a link to this journal in the description stating it is a contest entry.

Entry Requirements and Rules - Digital & Traditional Art Portraits

Once the stock and resources half of the contest is closed on the 30th October, the second half will open on the 31st October. Let your creativity go wild turning the portrait stock contest submissions and additional contest resources into fabulous, classically inspired works of horror, prefect for gracing the walls of any creepy old mansion!

MAIN ENTRY - You may submit up to 2 PORTRAIT ART ENTRIES to this part of the contest.

Entry Rules

ALL ENTRIES MUST use 1 (or more) portraits submitted in the first half of the contest (required stock) either digitally or as traditional art references found in the following contest folder - Portrait Stock Entry Folder

ALL ENTRIES MUST be of PORTRAIT orientation  (greater height than width see examples in the journal) and submitted to the correct digital/traditional/mixed media sub gallery and additionally submitted to the following StockandResources contest folder here - Art Entry Folder

ALL ENTRIES MUST be FRAMED in some manner. Either by using stock images, or drawing/painting a frame around the finished work - remember, your work should look like it came straight from a grand gallery in a hammer house of horrors!

ALL ENTRIES must be NEW for this contest and use the required resources

ALL ENTRIES must abide by DeviantART's submission policies or they will be disqualified

ALL additional stock and resources must come from legitimate sources and all stock and resources must be properly credited in the description of your work - following the stock providers terms of use.

ALL ENTRIES must include a link to this journal in the description stating it is a contest entry.
